“It’s Cool To Read” - Summer Reading Event

We will be holding an ‘It’s Cool To Read’ summer reading event for two weeks beginning Monday 22nd June.

The aim of the event is to emphasise the importance of reading and show children that it is ‘cool’ and ‘fun’ to read.

We have lots of exciting activities lined up and want you to get involved too. Miss Whitton will be writing to all parents and carers to ask you to get involved over the two weeks of the event.

We have the Mayor and local M.P. Mick Clapham coming to school to join in reading activities and wish to invite you and other members of the wider community to come into school too, to share the fun and show children that reading is an important life skill.

Year 1 Trip to Tropical Butterfly Farm

Year 1 had an enjoyable and successful visit to Anston Tropical Butterfly Farm and Falconry Centre on Tuesday this week.  Many thanks to all the parents and carers who came along to help, we hope that you enjoyed it too.

Year 6 Rounders

The year 6 Rounders Team played in the Barnsley schools finals at Kingstone School this week.  They played extremely well and came third. They showed good sportsmanship and were a credit to the school.
