May Day Reminder

School will be closed on Monday May 4th for the May Day Holiday.

French School Lunch

We are teaching French in all Key Stage 2 classes this term. In order to help the children to find out a little more about French culture, we have planned to have school lunch with a French theme on Tuesday next week.

Pupils were sent an invitation to join us for the meal, which despite the French names is essentially. Beef casserole, potatoes, vegetables and apple pie and custard. The meal with French music and decorations should be a fun learning experience.

No other meals will be served on Tuesday.

Influenza

The news is currently full of reports about Pandemic Flu. We are always vigilant to outbreaks of diseases which could spread quickly in school. We are reminding the children to cover their noses and mouths when coughing and sneezing and to use a tissue and throw it away in appropriate bins after use.

Careful hand washing has been demonstrated and we have followed advice in providing appropriate washing and drying facilities in school.

These are sensible precautions at all times.

We ask parents to take sensible precautions too by keeping children at home if they display flu like symptoms. You can access further guidance on the school website where we have displayed a copy of DCFS guidance to parents.

Making Playtimes Better

We are going to be making some positive changes to our playtimes, with more games and activities being on offer. As part of this we need to make some ‘beanbags’ from unwanted washing tablet bags and milk carton tops.

If anyone has any unwanted washing tablet bags (the string ones that go in the washing machine) and washed plastic milk carton tops, please can these be brought into school. They will then be made into the ‘beanbags’ ready for the games.
