Walking Bus
This has been a huge success in its aim to get more children walking to school. Unfortunately, the weather has not been very kind to us this week; however we still had a good turn out.
We do hope that this gives children who do not normally walk to school the incentive to start to do this regularly. Walking is natural healthy exercise and we need to encourage our youngsters to adopt healthy lifestyles.
This increased presence of local community police officers outside the school has hopefully deterred some people from illegal parking, making it much safer for pupils to walk to school. Please remember it is just as easy if you do have to drive to drop the children off on Berrydale, keeping the road outside the school free for all but essential traffic.
Tennis Tournament
Congratulations to the Year 4 tennis team. The team won the local school’s tennis tournament on Wednesday this week and are now through to the regional final on 16th June.
Half Term Holiday
We cannot believe that it is half term already.
We return to school on Tuesday 2nd June.
Monday 1st is a Staff Training Day.
Sports day
We are planning to hold Sports Day on Tuesday 14th July.
Foundation Stage and Key Stage 1 will be in the morning and Key Stage 2 in the afternoon. This is of course weather permitting. We will let you know more exact timings nearer the time.
